Time & Location for the Friends meetings!

• The next meeting of Friends of Eagle Nest Lake & Cimarron Canyon State Parks will be Wednesday February 8, 2012, at 4 PM at Eagle Nest Lake State Park Visitor Center. Main topic will be the Ice Fishing Tournament scheduled for February 18, 2012 at Eagle Nest Lake.  Volunteers are welcome. 
• We have been very busy planning several events. The Southwest Snowkite Festival  and the 2012 Ice Fishing Tournament are two of our primary projects at this time. In addition to these three events, this year we have also worked on the Cimarron Canyon Kid's Fishing Derby, a kite flying contest at Eagle Nest Lake held on the 4th of July, the week long Great Outdoors Camp for kids, firewood sales at the parks, and the Geo Cache sites at Eagle Nest Lake & Cimarron Canyon .
• The Board, seven volunteers strong, works almost daily on these projects in some form or fashion, and yet we still do not have enough manpower (or brainpower!) to fill all the "holes in the dyke"! We need "worker bees" to work on a variety of tasks to make these events come to fruition. Otherwise, its possible that some of these events may go by the wayside for lack of volunteers and/or cash.
